Freedom Martial Arts Academy
My son joined Freedom right after Christmas. We joined after a recommendation from a friend as both of our sons were experiencing bullying at school and they stopped the TKD program at the YMCA. Best decision ever. Not only did my son join but I shortly joined after. As time went on we have found most of our afternoons and weekends are with the Freedom Family. Not because we have to make a class but because we absolutely love being there. I wouldn't think at my age I would start something like this but I am hooked. I attend the all ages classes with the kids and love it. If you have ever wanted to give Martial Arts a try this is the place to go. I am in better shape than I have been in years and sharing it with my son. We are both more confident, respectful, and use the skills in our daily lives. This is a family friendly (you will meet a lot of great families) environment that focuses not only on TKD but values and community.
We've been going to FMA for 3 years. It has transformed our kids' lives in many ways: confidence, leadership, and character. But most importantly, FMA is a strong diverse community that thrives on giving back to the surrounding areas. For us learning Taekwondo is a bonus, but we really appreciate the small things that FMA promotes.
In today's crazy society you must trust and know the people that surround your children and we certainly trust FMA with our kids!
Our son had been wanting to participate in some form of martial arts for a couple of years. Before making our decision we took the time to formally observe a couple of the local martial arts programs in Edgewood, WA and surrounding communities. Our son even participated in a free week trial at another nearby business offering Karate classes. We noticed some big differences between Freedom Martial Arts Academy and other nearby martial arts programs. We decided we wanted our son to come out of this experience being able to generalize martial arts skills to potential real life scenarios...which is why we ultimately chose Freedom Martial Arts. A year later we are still highly impressed with Freedom Martial Arts! Freedom Martial Arts is a top notch program that engages students and families with a high level of professionalism. The program is well-rounded and offers explicit instruction with a focus on technique, conditioning, sparing, poomsae, weapons instruction, etc. As parents, we appreciate the focus on values and discipline which is especially important for children being entrusted with a skill that has the potential to hurt others.
Just like me, you are trying to figure out the difference between schools in the area and make the best decision. One thing I looked at was mat time. Was my kid sitting most of the time or being active. How many students in the class was important. The more there are, the less time he would get on the mat. This school pays attention and really cares about the well-being of their students. If your kid is misbehaving at home or school, the Master talks to them. They support you! They teach Life Skills each month and hold them accountable. There is structure but a good balance of fun too.
This place is dedicated to family and supporting the community. You immediately feel part of an amazing family and support structure from the first day you come in. I love all the people here, the atmosphere, and the lessons taught to the kids above and beyond traditional lessons. This is the place to take your family.
The school is a great place for families. We love it here. I've seen the school grow and it is the best martial arts school in Edgewood. Everything I have to say is that me and my daughter have had a wonderful experience here. Thank you to Mr.Sauers my daughter became stronger and confident. Freedom Martial Arts also supports the community.
Freedom Martial Arts Academy is a wonderfull school. They really care about their students. Taekwondo has so many benefits for kids. The kids get a great amount of mat time and training. They do not sit behind cones and the program they teach is from years of training. It is true martial arts! Not bought where anyone can become a martial arts school owner. I didn't want my
I enrolled my son here about a year and two months ago and I have never seen so much improvement in his attitude and integrity since he has been a part of the freedom martial arts family this place is not only served it's purpose as a good outlet for working out and teaching them new skills but it teaches them a lot about how to treat others and respect elders and their peers it's a beautiful environment as a family environment I am just so thrilled that I am a part of this family they make you feel right at home it's worth every penny I suggest if you haven't checked it out and you were in the local area to come join freedom martial arts adults and children are welcome
The internet does not have enough space to contain all the good I have to say about this place! We drive passed several schools JUST to be a part of Freedom ... they are worth it! Give your kiddo the gift of Freedom and Freedom will give them the gift of self-confidence, determination, life skills, and encourage them to excellence!
We've been meaning to sign the kids up since we have friends that go there. We went on Saturday for one of their birthday parties. That was a hit with my kids and myself. They got a great work-out from the games and I loved watching them do the obstacle course. Great party idea. Helps to familiarize people with your establishment. Can't wait to get them signed up.
